Oh, Beautiful Weekend

We had the most wonderful weekend!

Saturday was spent at the mall finishing nearly finishing our Christmas shopping. Hubby and I walked around the mall once together before having lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, during which time I out-ate Ernie for once! I had the fresh salad bar, queso dip with chips, some of E's chedder cheese fries, quiche, tomato and mozzarella salad, followed by sharing the decadent chocolate tall cake dessert. When we were done eating, E was moaning and groaning, while I, quite honestly, could have gone for another dessert. After lunch, we split up for about an hour and a half, and did some more shopping.

Sunday was Ernie's 29th birthday (yay, we're the same age number again, he can't tease me anymore for being older!), and we awoke to some snow already on the ground, and the beautiful white stuff was still falling. Our first real snowfall!

I was in heaven. And it was a perfect day for getting our Christmas tree. We went with E's family and headed to the tree farm. After freezing our booties off walking around for a bit scoping out the trees, we found the perfect one, and E cut it down. We only had enough time to unload it onto the porch before we needed to head back to the in-laws for Ernie and his brother's birthday celebration. After (too much) homemade pizza, rasberry cheesecake, and icecream cake, we headed back home, and it was early enough still to bring the tree in, set it up, and decorate it. In years past, we've done a silver and blue theme, but this year I wanted something different. I picked up some awesome after-Christmas deals last year and we decorated our tree in red and gold this year. It is quite possibly the prettiest tree we've ever had. (Don't mind the wonky photo). And oh, the smell of the fresh tree just fills the house. Love, love.

Oh, and while at the mall on Saturday, we did some maternity clothes shopping at Motherhood Maternity. I got some cute things, but moreso, loved the velcro wrap-on baby belly bump they had in the fitting rooms. I definitely put one on for trying out the clothes, and imagined myself that big! I took a picture with my cell phone, but I need to figure out how to send it/get it to myself online.

:) That baby bump is nowhere near the right size that you will be at the end!

Sounds like a great time!
