National Scrapbooking Day

I'm finally able to participate in National Scrapbooking Day (NSD) - the last few years I've missed it due to some other appointment or traveling. Not today. Although, I do have to admit that while I got my "scrap on," I didn't create nearly as much as I would have liked to as the baby didn't seem to like the position I was sitting in too much.

I'm loving Kelly's "Show Us Where You Live" challenge that she is hosting every Friday. This past Friday was all about kitchens, and I've been a peeping tom and perusing everyone's links. With moving into our first home next month, this is perfect for decorating ideas and inspiration!

So, this is not my kitchen now, but the kitchen we will be moving into. Obviously, the wallpaper needs to go, and the appliances need to be updated at some point (there is a new stove and built-in microwave that are black, so I'm not sure if we'll do black or stainless). Anywho, please let me know your thoughts - how would YOU update this kitchen??

P.S. What do you think of the blog makeover? :)

Your new kitchen reminds me of ours. We moved into our new house last summer. We did a minor re-do of the kitchen. I would bet the same type of thing would work here. New countertops, a new sink, and some paint will go really far to making that kitchen look updated and gorgeous without breaking the bank. Good luck with the move!

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Your new blog design is so cute!! Very fun. As for updating the kitchen, when you remove the wallpaper, you could texture and paint. And actually, in my upstairs bathroom I textured over the wallpaper and painted over it!! It just can't be wallpaper that is peeling or layers and payrs of wallpaper that peels off easily. If you texture and paint over it it will peel right off. Is there a Home Depot or Lowe's near you? If so, they can teach you VERY easy texturing techniques. Good luck!!

And I am going crazy! I came here to answer your question and got carried away with your cute blog! You asked about my curtains....the fabric came from a local store called Cowgirls and Lace and the curtains were made. They actually go up and down so I can let them down for privacy if I like, but I leave them up most of the time because I like the light. Have a great day!
