Update on Baby

I had a routine ultrasound this morning, and it was discovered that the baby has low amniotic fluid. There's actually a diagnosis for it, though I can't remember the correct name for it...olgio something something.

I was very stressed when I returned home, and was waiting for my doctor to call. When he did call, he was very positive and upbeat, and said that besides the low fluid, everything looked great with the baby. We have two options at this point - monitoring the baby with nonstress tests (NST's) or delivering early. The doctor wants to go with the tests at this point, twice a week plus an ultrasound. I had the first NST today, and everything was perfect. So far, so good. The next test is Friday.

She's still very active, and pushing on Mommy's bladder all the time! According to the ultrasound, she's measuring 5 lbs, 8 oz.

Please keep our baby in your prayers, if you would. Pray that she'll remain safe and healthy during the remainder of this pregnancy. And if she needs to come early, please pray for God to help guide the doctors and nurses in determining that.

Thank you.

When you commented on my status on FB yesterday I didn't realize that the baby had low amniotic fluid until after I responded. Didn't want you to think I was being nonchalant about it. At first I thought it was just all of the stress of the house and being pregnant and all of the worrying that goes along with pregnancy. Then I saw your status about the amniotic fluid.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers until you deliver your sweet baby girl. I think Katie's her name Amber. Is that right Jodi?

Much love from NJ,

Glad to hear the doctor is feeling better about the fluid level. I will be praying with you that little girl stays healthy and inside as long as is needed!

We serve an awesome God.

Thank you, ladies, for your thoughts and prayers. They mean so much. The doctor had me go in for another u/s, and he saw double the fluid! Checking again tomorrow at the hospital, but so far, so god - see that typo? I don't really think it's a typo...God really has control, and that gives me peace.

Her name is Katelyn, Katie for short. :)
