We're expecting a....

I promised I'd be better with this blog, and it's still collecting cobwebs. Sometimes I have all these ideas swirling in my head of things to write about, but when the page loads and the empty white box stares back at me, I'm speechless.

We had a wonderful time in Maine a couple of weekends ago, celebrating Christmas with family. Katie loved spending time with her cousins - so much so, that she refused to take a nap on Saturday and then ended up crashing at dinner time while she was eating.

In other news, (and for those who are friends with me on facebook, you already know this) we found out at the end of December what this little cupcake in my belly will be:

Yes, another girl! While hubby would love to pass on his family name, I think it is great that Katie will have a little sister. I grew up with a younger sister (we're 2 years apart), and we're the best of friends. I'm thankful Katie will be able to have that special sister relationship and bond. We DO have a name picked out, but we won't be sharing before the little one's arrival. Ernie got the choice of first name this time, and I got the middle name - both having veto power, of course.

The jury is still out on whether we'll try for baby #3 in the future. Ernie was adamant that this is it, but is now unsure. I'd love to have a little boy - though I know we don't control these things. My husband is the III, so there is extra pressure (not from him or I) to pass along not only the family name, but his name. But again, those things are not in our control and we are so very thankful for a healthy baby that is growing inside me.

On a related side note, I do have placenta previa again. The doctors are going to monitor it closely, and so far there are only minimal limitations. I'm praying the previa resolves itself, and there are no complications. I have been blessed with an easy pregnancy thus far, especially compared to my first pregnancy. There isn't a day that goes by that I am not mindful of and grateful for this blessing. If you feel inclined to, I covet your prayers in regards to this pregnancy condition. I have an ultrasound Friday, so I should have more information then.

Jodi, Katie is so beautiful! I am excited for you that you are having another girl. Maya and Brooklyn are two years apart and just recently (about the last 6 months) they have been interacting and playing with each other SO much. I had a younger sister and we are very close. I feel like we are in the same boat...we are deciding if we will adopt a third. As much as we would love a boy, we are grateful that we have two very healthy girls. I am glad to hear that you are feeling well. I will keep you in our prayers and good luck with your ultrasound on Friday.
