Happy 9 Month Birthday, Katie!
What are you doing at nine months?
What are you doing at nine months?
- You still sleep an average of 11 hours per night (thank you!) with two naps during the day - a morning and afternoon nap.
- You have mastered what I like to call the "military crawl." You will pull your entire body across the floor with your arms. You can get up on your knees and rock back and forth, but to get around, you slither along the floor. You are quite the mover, and can get quickly from one place to another. You keep us very busy! It's funny when you want to "explore" - you'll crawl a bit, then look back to check if I'm watching and to see if it's ok to keep going. Too cute.
- Speaking of exploring, you love to "learn about your world," whether it be a new toy, or a crumb you find on the floor. I love to see you learning about something new; you really concentrate and furrow your brow in the process.
- You can sit up from a laying down position and vice versa.
- You have two teeth! Your bottom left tooth came in on 3/8/10 and the bottom right tooth made its appearance two days later on 3/10/10.
- You are very inquisitive. You respond quite often with hmph, either in response to a question we ask of you, when you want something, or if you see something interesting.
- You weigh 20.10 lbs and are 28 1/2 inches long. You're now in the 75th percentile for height and weight.
- You still love stuffed animals. You get so excited when we place one in your arms, and you squeeze and hug it, and sometimes even give it a kiss.
- You hold your own bottle now - such a big girl! It does break my heart a little, though. :( You're growing up and becoming so independent! You'll always be my little girl, though.
- You are mastering the "pincer grasp" and picking up small bites of food and bringing them to your mouth!
- You give the wettest, sloppiest, little-baby-teeth-sometime-included kisses - I love them!
